Richards, Florence E. (Lambert), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Francis Home. Age 98 years. The daughter of the late George and Edna (Holmes) Ely, Florence was born October 16, 1913 in Traverse City, Michigan. Preceding her in death are her husbands, J. Allen Schreur, Clemens Lambert and Theodore Richards. Florence was employed in the grocery business for many years, initially at Kroger’s and later helped her husband Clem in establishing H&K Grocery in Saginaw. She was a founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was involved in the Altar Society for many years and was currently a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Florence was a member of King’s Daughters and volunteered in the gift shop at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was an avid golfer, playing at Green Acres before it became a shopping center and at courses in Texas during her retirement years. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Jaremba, Saginaw; Mary Stevens, Ann Arbor; step-children, Evelyn Lambert and Joyce Owens; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Florence was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Jaremba, a step-son, Robert Lambert, two grandchildren, Sandra Lambert and Steven Stock, and by a great-grandson, Tyler. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate with interment in St. Andrew Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at St. Stephen Catholic Church where the family will be present on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
