Pochopien, Tassie, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at St. Francis Home. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late Anthoni and Malwina (Rombalski) Sieminkiewicz, Tassie was born April 11, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Chester J. Pochopien on May 28, 1949. He predeceased her July 18, 2010. Tassie was employed as a secretary at Michigan National Bank until her retirement. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and was founder of the Catholic Heritage Museum. Tassie was also a member of the League of Catholic Women, Catholic Study Club, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary, a member and former board member of St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary and a founding member of the Women’s Farm & Garden. Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Norma Pochopien, Arizona; Bernice Sieminkiewicz, Saginaw; a cousin, Edward and Madlyn Sieminkiewicz and family; several nieces and nephews. Tassie was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Sieminkiewicz. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Thursday and a Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak, will take place at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
