Parth, Robert Wayne, Oscoda, MI, Formerly of Saginaw, MI

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away early Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the Cartwright Care Center, following a lengthy illness. Age 80 years. He was born September 1, 1931, in Saginaw, the son of the late Herbert and Gladys (Bauer) Parth. He attended Arthur Hill Trade School and later graduated from Saginaw High School. He served with the US Air Force in the Korean War. He married Ruth E. Griffith on April 12, 1957; she survives him. He had been employed as a pattern maker for Wickes Corporation and later retired from Bay Cast in 1996. Mr. and Mrs. Parth moved to Oscoda in 1998. He had been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Saginaw and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Oscoda. He was a member of American Legion Post #439 in Saginaw and of American Legion Post 274 in Oscoda. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Surviving besides his wife Ruth are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Paula Parth, Saginaw; Jay and Kimberly Parth, Linwood; four grandchildren, Kayla (Joshua) Muehlenbeck, Corey, Jason and Matthew; several cousins. Memorial services will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Daniel Ross will officiate. Military honors will be under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Cartwright Care Center, c/o Covenant VNA.
