Opperman, Monica, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home Monday, October 29, 2012. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late Boleslav and Thersa (Koski) Ushinsky, Monica was born March 21, 1927 in Saginaw. She married Donald F. Opperman on February 19, 1949. He preceded her on October 13, 1983. She graduated Saginaw High School in 1945, along with taking classes Delta College. Monica went on to work and retire from Saginaw General Hospital. She was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church and their rosary society. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards but most of all, Monica loved spending time with her friends and family. Surviving are her daughters Anne Opperman and Sue Anne Opperman of Saginaw; her granddaughters Molly (Jeff) Princinsky, Saginaw and Amy Grzemkowski, Saginaw; great-granddaughter Paige Monica Dahlbeck; niece Mary Kay (Jim) Hackett, Lincoln, Nebraska; and nephew Steve Sheehan, Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her son James Opperman; a sister Helen Sheehan; and a brother-in-law John Sheehan. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Dombrowski will officiate. Burial will be held privately at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home where the family will be present on Tuesday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
