Oeming Sr., David F., Saginaw, Michigan

Devoted husband and loving father passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Age 86 years. David F. Oeming Sr. was born August 12, 1925, in Saginaw to the late Albert and Lucille (Taylor) Oeming. He married Janice Freeman Goodsell on June 18, 1947. She predeceased him on March 2, 2012. He graduated from the University of Michigan where he obtained degrees in both architecture and architectural engineering and thereafter practiced architecture and building in the Saginaw area. During WWII he served in the U. S. Army and was a decorated combat veteran. He also served many years on the Saginaw City Council. An avid outdoorsman and lover of the arts, David was a man in full. Surviving are six children and their spouses, David F. and Therese-Marie Oeming, Freeland, MI; Jack and Kat Oeming, Eugene, Oregon; Robin and Susan Oeming, Bay City, MI; Lucy and John Malacos, Saginaw, MI; Betsy and Bob Benac, Sarasota, FL; Suzanne and Scott Martin, Cadillac, MI; fifteen grandchildren and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph Oeming and Roger Oeming. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams St., Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. C. William Weis will officiate. Friends may call at the W. L.
