Novak, Ralph S., Saginaw, MI, Formerly of Empire, Michigan

Beloved uncle passed away Monday, February 13, 2012. Age 93 years. The son of the late Stanley and Victoria (Brinkiewicz) Novak, Ralph was born August 2, 1918 in Saginaw, Michigan and had moved to Empire, Michiganin 1975. He served in the U.S. Army-Air Force during WW II. Ralph married Regina Kuligowski on June 19, 1948. She predeceased him February 14, 1992. He was employed at General Motors Corp. as a heat treat foreman for 39 years until his retirement April 1, 1974. Ralph was a past member of St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Empire, Michigan. He loved fishing and was a member of the D.O.M.C. (Dirty Old Man Club) in Empire, Michigan. Surviving are nieces and nephews, Barbara Flannery, Raymond (Sonny) and Joanie Winiecke, Rosemary Lashua, David and Jacqueline Novak, Jana and John Gerber; several great-nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Rita Wineicke, George and Benedict Novak and Helen Orwig. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck. Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate. Interment will follow in St.Andrew Cemetery where military honors will be rendered by V.F.W. Post #1859. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Cartwright Hospice Residence or St. Josaphat Catholic Church.
