Miner Jr., Fred, Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Meadowview Manor. Age 89 years. The son of the late Fred and Beulah (Lane) Miner, Fred was born March 26, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served as a staff sergeant and medic in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division during WW II where he received numerous decorations including the Bronze Star. Fred married Ann Wolbers, his loving wife of 68 years, on September 22, 1943. Fred was employed as sales & leasing Manager at Sarow Sales for 25 years until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Countryside Trinity Church. Fred was a member of the Germania Town & Country Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Ann and spending time with his family and was talented at restoring cars. Surviving besides his wife Ann are two sons, two daughters and their spouses, David and Valerie Miner, Clio; Dennis and Rita Miner, Freeland; Susan and Bill Ninke, Saginaw; Nancy Miner, Saginaw; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Montgomery and Doris Ostermiller; several nieces and nephews. Fredís family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the Meadowview Manor staff for the loving care they gave to Fred. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Trinity Church, 4690 Weiss St., Saginaw. Rev. Kenneth Parker will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens where military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at Countryside Trinity Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
