McKinley, Richard J., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved father and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Age 80 years. Son of the late Malcolm and Irene (Smilax) McKinley, Richard was born July 27, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a graduate of University of Detroit. Richard married Jane Lorraine Gerulski on September 14, 1957 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Midland, Michigan. She predeceased him December 27, 2003. Richard was employed at AT&T in customer sales and service with 32 years of service. Richard was a very active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Civitan Club and the Serra Club. Richard was a past member of the Germania Town and Country Club and had a love for theatre especially at the Pit-N-Balcony. Richardís life revolved around his church, his God and his family. Surviving are six daughters, three sons and their spouses, Mark and Karen McKinley, Kawkawlin; Dianne and Ron Romano, Greensboro, North Carolina; Mary Beth Hurt, Saginaw; Alicia and David Schultz, Saginaw; Karen and Dan Gosen, Clarkston; Thomas and Kari McKinley, Naperville, Illinois; Denise and John Wright, Saginaw; Lynette and Dan Gatfield, DeWitt, Michigan: David and Stephanie McKinley, DeWitt, Michigan; 22 grandchildren, Jordan, Jason, Adam, Tyler, Janae, Ashley, Justine, Madison, Luke, Alexa, Brenna, Nicholas, Mac, Nolan, Jonah, Blake, Connor, Ashton, Aubrey, Mason, Kaitlyn and Nathan; several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Robert McKinley. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with entombment in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
