Mahan Jr., Ellis H., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, at Saginaw Senior Care Center. Age 94 years. The son of the late Alma I. (Doebbert) and Ellis H. Mahan Sr. was born May 14, 1917 in Baldwinsville, NY. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Lucille Fankhanel, July 17, 1943. She passed away December 11, 2010. Ellis was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Transmission (later Delco-Morraine) retiring with over 30 years of service. He was active with the U.A.W. Retirees. He was a member of First Congregational Church where he served as an Usher for over 50 years. Surviving are three children, Mary Mahan, Helen (Terry) Dollhoff, and Chuck Mahan; grandchildren, Diana Dollhoff, Michael (Nidhal Beydoun) Dollhoff, Elizabeth, Theresa, Anna, and Daniel Mahan; great-granddaughter, Adella; sisters-in-law, Arlyne Fankhanel, Hope Mahan, and Mary Mahan; and many nieces and nephews. Nine brothers, sisters and their spouses, Pearl (Francis) Emery; Irene (Milton) Dubay; Royce(Dorothy) Mahan; Grant Mahan; Gerald(Leola) Mahan; Donald Mahan; Bruce (Neoma) Mahan; Betty Kramer; George Mahan have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Dr. Todd Farley and Rev. Kenneth Anderson will officiate with Military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the Chapel from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider First Congregational Church (U.C.C.)
