Luxton, Sue Ann, Bay City, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 74 years. The daughter of the late Morse and Leona (Klopf) Bushey, Sue was born August 23, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married John (Jack) F. Luxton, her loving husband of nearly 50 years, on May 18, 1963. He survives her. Sue and Jack owned and operated Luxton’s Hallmark in Saginaw and Bay City for many years until her retirement in 1991. Sue was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She served on many committees, including Daughters of the King. Sue had lovingly knitted 63 prayer shawls which she gave to people who needed them most. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Germania Towne & Country Club and was active in the Littlest Angels Golf Tournament which raised funds for the Covenant Neo-natal unit. Her smiling face and generous heart will me missed by all who knew her. Surviving besides her husband Jack are two daughters, Jennifer and Jon Steele, Hemlock; Heidi Quinn, Carmel, Indiana; two grandchildren, Michael and Katelyn Quinn; one brother and two sisters, Duane and Virginia Bushey, Saginaw; Jan Walz, AuGres; Kay Moore, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Bushey. Honoring Sue’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church (corner of Michigan and Hancock). Rev. Daniel Cannon will officiate. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. John’s Episcopal Church.
