Kozak-Brandel, Cathleen “Cathy”, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away peacefully at her home with family on December 27, 2012 at the age of 39 after a long battle with cancer. The daughter of James R. Kozak, and Joyce E. Tolasch, Cathy was born in Saginaw Michigan on July 15th 1973. Cathy took pride that she grew up in Indiantown, Michigan and that she had the opportunity to graduate from Reese High School in 1991. Cathy married the love of her life and her best friend, Edsel “Eddie” James Brandel on October 7, 2005. Cathy is survived by her husband Eddie Brandel, her daughter Genevieve “Gena” V. Kozak, her brothers James R. Kozak II, Kevin M. Tolasch and Caleb E. Tolasch, her parents James and Joyce, along with a special niece Kayla Kozak who was loved like a daughter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her love and affection. Cathy had many passions in life but none as big as watching Michigan Football every Saturday, either at home or The Big House Cathy never missed a game. Cathy also enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was going camping at a campground, going to a dirt track race, going out on the boat fishing, Cathy loved being out of the house with her family. Cathy was a loving mother to Gena, wife to Eddie, sister to Jimmy, Kevin, Caleb, friend to all that knew her and the animals that she had. Cathy was loved by many people and will be missed deeply. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 31, 2012 at noon. Pastor Daniel Foor will officiate. Honoring Cathy’s wishes a cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
