Kostick, Shirley Ann, Bridgeport, Michigan


Loving wife, mother and sister passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Frankenmuth Lutheran Home. Age 76 years. Daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Wolf) Sherman, Shirley was born June 23, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1953. She was married to James Kostick on June 23, 1956. He survives her. Shirley was employed at Williams Ice Cream Company and was a Bridgeport Township Deputy Clerk. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Shirley’s hobbies include sewing, crafts and collecting gnomes. She enjoyed traveling and used to play the piano. Shirley also enjoyed the companionship of her dogs throughout her life. She was a devoted Detroit fan supporting the Tigers, Lions, Redwings and Pistons. Surviving besides her husband are one son and one daughter, Kenneth (Robin) Kostick, Bridgeport ; Julie Kostick, Summerland Key, Florida ; her sister Lee (John) Hatton, Saginaw ; several nieces and nephews . Shirley was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Hellus and one brother, Jim Sherman. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
