Jurgens, Jane, Saginaw, Michigan

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 68 years. The daughter of the late William C. Jurgens Sr. and Mary L. (Corson) Jurgens, Jane was born November, 15, 1943 in Long Beach California. Jane received her Bachelors Degree in English and her Master’s Degree in Administration from Saginaw Valley State University and worked in Saginaw Public Schools for 27 years. She retired in 2010 as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Curriculum. She also was active in the Saginaw Valley Junior League for many years and served as the Junior League President in 1982-83. She was avid reader and also enjoyed traveling and playing cards. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Stephen W. (Colette) Gallagher, Rochester, Minnesota; William A. Gallagher, Rochester, Minnesota; John L. Denton Jr., Wyoming, Michigan; Kathryn J. (Kevin) Tober, Lansing, Michigan; four grandchildren, Courtney J. Ross, Lansing, Michigan; Hunter S. Gallagher and Liam S. Gallagher, Rochester, Minnesota; Seth W. Tober, Lansing, Michigan; one great-grandson, Ethan J. Mick, Lansing, Michigan; one brother, William C. (Lori) Jurgens Jr., Bay City, Michigan. Jane’s family would like to acknowledge the love and devotion of her best friend, Anne Doriean, who helped care for Jane and her family. Honoring Jane’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, (Court and Harrison), in Saginaw. Dr. Robert Emrich will officiate. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
