Johnson, Mary E. Peake, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Friday morning December 7, 2012 at her home in Saginaw, MI after a lengthy illness at the age of 85 years. Mary was born May 31, 1927 in Olmstead, KY to the late Richard B. and Elizabeth D. (Young) Bell and has resided in this area most of her life. Mary loved to crochet, spending time at her cabin, loved travelling and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a good and wonderful person. On January 30, 1945, she married Floyd Peake; he predeceased her on August 28, 1967. Then on December 15, 1973 Mary married Roy C. Johnson, he predeceased her on July 26, 1989. Mary is survived by her seven children; Carol (Daryl) Eurich of Dover, FL, Richard (Brenda) Peake of Midland, Floyd (Karen) Peake of Saginaw, Betty (John) Lutz of Freeland, James (Trina) Peake of Rhodes, Mary “Katie” (Thomas) Phillips of Saginaw, Tommy (Tresha) Peake of Saginaw. Eighteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, her special companion, Sam the black lab and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Bell of Fortville, IN and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Mary. Two daughters-in-law; Linda Peake, Donna Peake, two grandsons; Jonthon Peake, Jimmie Peake and three brothers; Richard, Harold, Joe Peake have predeceased Mary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Freeland. Rev. Robert G. Schmidt will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw. Friends may call at the Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington St., Freeland on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
