Hoffman, Leila G., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Cartwright Care Center at the age of 79 years. Leila G. Specht was born August 26, 1932 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Harry and Renetta (Lenz) Specht. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1950. She married James W. Hoffman June 27, 1953; he predeceased her April 30, 1987. She had been employed by Ameritech for many years, retiring September 1, 1994. She had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church and of the Daughters of the Nile. She was a volunteer at Covenant HealthCare for many years. She loved to travel. She also enjoyed going to the casino, her card clubs and bowling. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Diane and Ron Johnson, and Pam and Robert Hannon, all of Saginaw; Sharon and Kyle Spiekerman, Sterling Heights; Steve and Sue Hoffman, Homosassa, Florida; four grandchildren, Ryan and Chelsea Johnson, Saginaw; Blake Cappell, Minnesota; Blair and her husband Cary Johnson, Saginaw; two great-grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with, Brysen and Hartleigh Johnson; two step-grandchildren, Katti and her husband Brandt Reynolds; Rikki and her husband Brandon Vissler; two step-great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Reynolds and Maddelyn Vissler; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Marie Specht, and Kenneth and Kay Specht; several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Frank Specht, Jack Specht, Betty Crocker, and Jean Schneider. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1209 Hancock St. Pastor Susan Hand will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and then at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
