Hirschenberger, Martin, Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Covenant Emergency Care Center. Age 93 years. Son of the late Michael and Theresa (Schnapper) Hirschenberger, Martin was born October 4, 1918 in Fairgrove, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Martin married Alberta Schulte on November 25, 1943. She predeceased him in 1991. Martin had been employed by U.S. Graphite as a tool maker. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and loved to travel and play bingo. Surviving are two daughters, one son and their spouses, Eileen and Daniel Uram, Macomb Township; Ron and Margie Hirschenberger, Saginaw; Lois and Charlie Vlk, Birch Run; a daughter-in-law, Joan Hirschenberger; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Hirschenberger and Jean Hirschenberger; many nieces and nephews. Martin was preceded in death by his son, Dale Hirschenberger, a great-grandson, Jack, five sisters and four brothers. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. John R. Johnson will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
