Hart, Mary Ruth (Ozerites), James Township, Michigan

Passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at home. Age 85 years. A life long Saginaw resident, she was born February 25, 1927 to Lithuanian immigrants Frank and Anna (Roumalis) Ozerites. She married Bernard C. Hart May 30, 1951 at St. George Catholic Church. Bernard and Mary were married 49 years when Barney passed away in 2000. One year later, Mary had a disabling stroke which complicated her already broken heart. They left six children; Mary Anne (Dennis) Henning, Charles (deceased) Hart, Bernard V. (Amy) Hart, Dorothy (Larry deceased) Wilson, Harry (Betty) Hart, and Dan (Sue) Hart, grandchildren; Michael, Katie, Jeffery, and Beth Hart, Alana and Robert Koons, Peter Henning, Harry and Harold Hart, and Jake and Brooke Hart, step-granddaughter Tara Wilson, one great grandson Alex Shauman, and step great-grandchildren Samantha and Will. Mary's surviving siblings are Stella Cichowski, Betty Messner, and John (Marion) Ozerites. Her in-laws Eleanor Hart, Margaret Hart, Mary Doerr, and Catherine and Frank Keenan also survive her. She held her Hart extended family in loving esteem and her siblings as close as her own heart. Mary was predeceased by her brother Frank Ozerites, her sisters Helen Rock, Martha Jacoby, Mildred Hickerson, Anna Rosencrans, and Frances Maczik and their spouses. After graduating from Saginaw High School in 1949, Mary traveled to California. She returned to Saginaw, taking a position at Baker-Perkins until shortly before the birth of her second child. From that point on she focused on her home, family, church, and extended family. Baking for family and church and her love of flowers are often noted by others as fond memories generated by Mary Ruth. Her many relatives and friends were always welcome and no one went away hungry from their visits. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Fr. Jack Johnson will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery.
