Harris, Gilbert W., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab Center. Age 91 years. Son of the late Earl and Mary (Pussehl) Harris, Gilbert was born November 9, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of V.F.W. Post # 1859. He married Ethel Pearl Ray on February 22, 1947. She survives him. Gilbert was co-owner of the Harris Locker Plant. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing and especially his family. Surviving besides his wife Ethel are one daughter and her husband, Gloria (Lee) Hubbell, Hemlock; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Harris, AuGres; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Gilbert was preceded in death by two daughters, Claudene Borrousch and Connie Gallagher; his son, Gilbert W. Harris Jr.; one sister, Amber Coe; and five brothers, Earl, Russell, Chester, Clifford and Elmer (Spike) Harris. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4640 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Pastor Phillip DeVries will officiate. A private burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00-7:00 p.m. and on Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
