Hahn, Betty J., Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Age 81 years. Betty Jane Morse was born in Saginaw on October 3, 1930, to the late Floyd and Mabel (Robbins) Morse. She was married to Arthur Hahn on June 14, 1952. He predeceased her on January 7, 2004. Betty was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1952; she was supervisor of O.B. and worked in E.R. at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital for several years; past director of Martin-Luther Home, then moved to Clare, Michigan to work at the Clare Community Hospital until her retirement. Betty loved traveling, with her husband throughout the continental United States and Canada, and spending their winters in Homosassa, FL. She also enjoyed following all the sporting events of her sons and grandchildren. Surviving are her two daughters, three sons and their spouses, Susan (John) Oczepek, Saginaw; Penny (Rick) Colosky-Sevener, Clare; Richard (Joyce) Hahn, Beal City; Arthur Hahn, Freeland; John (Debra) Hahn, Hemlock; daughter-in-law, Debra Hahn, Saginaw; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Jean (James) Michael, Saginaw; brother, James (Pam) Morse, FL; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, William (Bill) Hahn; twin great-granddaughters, Emma and Lauren Miller; son-in-law, Gary Colosky; sister, Gloria Lefler; two brothers, Floyd Morse and Robert Harris. In accordance with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 545 S. 7th St., Freeland. The Rev. Robert Schmidt will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Freeland.
