Gray, Kenneth E., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012. Age 88 years. Son of the late Leslie and Effie (Teagarden) Gray, Kenneth was born September 2, 1924 in Princeton, Illinois. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Western Illinois University. He married Dorothy G. Underwood, his loving wife of 65 years, on August 10, 1947. She survives him. Kenneth was a teacher and coach at Saginaw High School for 25 years and at Bridgeport High School for 13 years. Kenneth was inducted into the Michigan High School Coaches Hall of Fame. He was a member of Countryside Trinity Church. Kenneth was an optimistic, lifelong Cub Fan. Surviving besides his wife Dorothy are two sons and their spouses, Gregory D. and Masako Gray, Japan; Ted E. and Lisa Gray, Saginaw; a son-in-law, Daniel Barnes, Lexington, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Brandon Barnes, Ashley Fleckenstein, Timothy and Jennifer Gray; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Roberta (Wes) Foster; two brothers, Walter Gray and Robert (Joyce) Gray; many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen M. Barnes, two brothers, Ronald and Lloyd Gray. A special thank you to all the loving and caring staff of Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab Center and Southern Care Hospice. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Chaplin Jerry Larkin will officiate. A private committal will take place at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will greet guests on Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
