Gillam III, Fred Duane (Bud), Merrill, Michigan

Passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at his home following a courageous battle of his 8 year illness. Age 69 years. The son of the late Lorna (VanGuilder) Lewis and Fred L. Gillam II. was born April 16, 1943 in Bay City, Michigan. He graduated from Bay City Central High School, Class of 1961. He married Alice May Yearsley, October 8, 1966. She survives him. He served with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S Enterprise, the first Nuclear Aircraft Carrier and was a member of the American Legion. He was employed by Eaton Mfg. Corp. retiring with thirty-one years of service. He was a member of the N.R.A and enjoyed hunting, fishing, running his saw mill and traveling. Mr. and Mrs. Gillam spent their winters in Florida and summers in Paradise, MI in the Upper Peninsula. Surviving besides his wife, Alice, are two daughters, Julie Goss and her husband, Tony; Becky Fradenburg; two grandchildren, Maya and Tyler Fradenburg, all of Merrill, MI. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Rev. Clayton Beck will officiate with Military burial in Lakefield Twp. Cemetery under the auspices of Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post 7302. Friends may call at the Chapel in Merrill from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
