Geyer, Wallace "Wally", Frankenmuth, Michigan

Passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center – Cooper, age 84 years. Wally was born on June 1, 1928 to the late Oswald and Florence (Knoll) Geyer. He married Lucille Dreffs then Irene Day. They both predeceased him. He then married Charlotte Roe on February 22, 1998. Wally farmed all his life. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, the American Legion, Post 150, and its card club, the Frankenmuth Conservation Club, and the Ford Retractable Club. Wally enjoyed spending time with family, restoring old cars, fox hunting, NASCAR racing, and playing cards. Surviving besides his wife Charlotte are Steve (Donna) Geyer of Frankenmuth, Tammy (Joe) Orosz of Saginaw, Tawnya Fountaine of Birch Run, Connie Day of Saginaw, Emory (Diane) Day of Frankenmuth, Harlan (Peggy) Day of Birch Run, Nona (Randy) Jarvis of Bay City, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, and 2 sisters, Lorna Banks of Mt. Morris, and Doris (Barry) Gadd of Saginaw. Wally was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Geyer and a grandson, Brian Geyer. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St., and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Rev. Gary Bender will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Cemetery. Wally’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
