Galovics, Joseph, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Cartwright Hospice Center. Age 96 years. Son of the late John and Bertha (Gallagher) Galovics, Joseph was born February 18, 1916 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Joseph married Tekla Wachowicz, his loving wife of 70 years, in November of 1941. She survives him. Joseph was employed at Eaton Manufacturing for 38 years retiring in 1975. Joseph loved trout fishing, gardening, traveling, playing cards and dancing. Surviving besides his wife Tekla are one daughter and two sons, Jo Ann and James Nacarato, Saginaw; Larry Galovics, Florida; James Galovics, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Cecelia and Matt Sullivan, Laura Stoeckel, Sam and Traci Nacarato, Stephen and Kara Nacarato, Cara and Kurt Schade, Wendy and Mike Stevens, Merry Galovics; many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. John Sarge will officiate. A private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the church where the family will be present on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to SS.
