Ferchau, Rodney Francis, Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, age 85 years. Rodney was born in Saginaw, Michigan October 30, 1926 the son of the late Chester M. and Margaret (Girard) Ferchau. He married Elaine Storch October 6, 1989. She predeceased him January 7, 2012. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Rodney worked as a roofer for several construction companies in the area. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, cutting wood and playing softball, which he was able to do until he was age 60. Rodney is survived by four children, Michael (Cindy) Thompson, Bridgeport, Brenda (Ralph) Klepinger, Saginaw, Sue Thompson and Kelly Manyen, both of Saginaw; four grandchildren, Anthony Thompson, Matthew and Stefanie Klepinger and Marissa Manyen; four siblings, Betty Egerer, Dale (Dorothy) Ferchau, Elaine (William) Miller and Keith (Pat) Ferchau; a sister-in-law, Rose Ferchau; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Rodney was predeceased by a brother, Jack Ferchau and a brother-in-law, Warren Egerer.According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service.
