DeKarske, Dale R., St. Charles, Michigan

Passed away Monday, May 21, 2012, at his home at the age of 70 years. Dale was born September 20, 1941, in Menasha, Wisconsin to the late Erwin and Eulalia (Suttner) DeKarske. Dale was a true Packer Backer! He received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1965 then a Master's in Elementary Education from Central Michigan in 1970 and a Educational Specialist Degree in 1981. He was a teacher and then principal of Miller Elementary School in St. Charles for over 30 years. He loved his family and he loved helping children. Dale was a Big Brother for 20 years. He was generous with his time and had many friends whom he thought a lot of. He was someone who never turned away a friend's request. He liked to putsy with things and make them right again. He enjoyed his retirement and went home to Wisconsin many times. He will be dearly missed by his wife Joyce (Tomana) DeKarske; sons, Daryl (Monika King) DeKarske and David (Shilpi Singh) DeKarske; granddaughter Nia; brother, Dennis (Trudy) DeKarske; niece, Melanie (Tom) Seigel; and great-nieces, Avalyn and Haven; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Douglas DeKarske. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles St., Saginaw. Fr. Ron Wagner will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Road, on Wednesday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. where the family will gather at 6:30 p.m. for a prayer service led by Fr. Emmett Marceau. Friends may also gather at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Charles School Foundation, St. Helen Catholic Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
