Conklin Sr., Norman Roscoe, Brant, Michigan


Passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Covenant Cooper. Age 78 years. The son of the late Roscoe and Irene (Verga) Conklin was born August 14, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Antonia Cecelia Conklin, November 10, 1956. She passed away May 11, 2008. He retired from L and M. Pallet Company. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed the out doors, hunting, fishing and just being outside with family and friends. Surviving are 5 children and their spouses; Dawn Conklin, Antonia Dinsmore, Norman R. Conklin Jr., Donald (May) Conklin, Sr., and Irene (Tod) LaBelle; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Conklin; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands, Elaine (Richard) Smith; Shirley (Jim) Alburg; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Conklin; several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Kiki. He was predeceased by a son, Boyd Joseph Conklin, a son-in-law, Daniel Dinsmore, and a brother, August Conklin. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Rev. Richard Jozwiak will officiate with Military burial in St. Theresa Cemetery, Marion Springs, under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859.
