Collier, Elvira A., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Friday, July 6, 2012, at her home. Age 94 years. Elvira A. Otter was born November 26, 1917, in Nelson, Fremont Township, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Walter) Otter. She married Delmos H. Collier on November 9, 1940; he predeceased her February 24, 2003. She was a friend of Hemlock United Methodist Church. She was an accomplished musician, playing several instruments, most particularly the organ. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Thomas Collier, Robert Collier, and Janet Cole, all of Hemlock; Russell Collier, Lansing; five grandchildren, Loren, Thomas, Marae, Amber and Steven; two great-granddaughters, Emmiline and Ashlee; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by three sisters and six brothers, Hazel Raymond, Kenneth, Elmer, Earl, Everett and Edith Otter, Dora Krieger, Orville and William Otter. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, where her family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and then on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial will be in the Richland Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Richland Township Fire Department.
