Braun, Robert Edward, Sand Point, MI, Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan

Loving father and papa passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the age of 87 years. The son of the late Edward W. and Edna (Schulz) Braun was born on January 8, 1925 in Saginaw. He attended Holy Cross School and graduated from Arthur Hill High School, the class of 1943. He received a degree in business from the University of Michigan in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII where he was in the 458th Bombing group flying a B24 Liberator plane. He married Jane Garber in September 2, 1950 and she predeceased him on April 7, 2009. Robert co-owned Furstenberg-Braun Lumber with his brother Randall. He was a member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, West Side Kiwanis Club, Fordney Club and the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce. Robert was an avid outdoorsman, boater and duck hunter. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are a daughter, Christine Paquet, Grand Ledge; a son, Robert J. (Carey) Braun, Saginaw; six grandchildren, Erik Paquet, Sarah Paquet, Jordan (Jill) Braun, Andrew Braun, Corina Braun and Morgan Braun; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Braun Jr., (Jadie Mae) Braun and Jonathan Braun; a niece, Cindy Pace and a nephew, Rif Braun, Jr. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lauren Paquet. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 Court St. Rev. James F. Krueger will officiate.
