Bourbina, Denice M. (Tovey), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away suddenly early Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the age of 49 years. Denice Mary Tovey was born April 23, 1962 in Detroit. She graduated from Swan Valley High School with the Class of 1980. She received her R.N. degree from Mercy Central School of Nursing in Grand Rapids. She had been employed by Covenant Health Care as a medical surgical nurse, at the Harrison Campus. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She played volleyball for Thomas Township and was a Swan Valley Athletic Association Booster. She married Ken J. Bourbina on December 27, 1985; he survives her along with their three children, Bradley Jay Bourbina (Jenni Klutts), Grand Rapids; Valarie Kay Bourbina (Sean Kelly), Saginaw; Kevin Robert Bourbina, at home; her mother, Connie Tovey, Saginaw Township; four sisters, one brother and their spouses, Ann (Rob) Kluck, East Lansing, MI; Dr. Barbara (Joe) Pellegrino, Woodbridge, VA; Cheryl (Rob) Smith, Saginaw; Diane (Pete) Jones, Whitby, Ontario; Patrick M. Tovey, Alexandria, VA; her parents-in-law, Jerry and Patt Bourbina, Saginaw; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger and Mary Bourbina, Saginaw; Mike and Mary Bourbina, Midland; Donna Bourbina, Saginaw; Bill and Sandy Bourbina, Saginaw; nieces and nephews, Gabriella Pellegrino, Mike Pellegrino, Robby Smith, Jaymie Smith, Juliane Jones, Kristen Jones, Derek Jones, Stephanie Jones, Beth and Ryan Coe, Alex and Justin Boese, Jill, Lauren, Garrett, Scott, Eric, Michael, Kourtney, Nathan, Ashley, and Courtney Bourbina; an aunt, Mary Tober, Bay City; several cousins and their families; and many beloved friends and co-workers. She was predeceased by her father, Bob Tovey, her sister-in-law, Jan Bourbina, an aunt, Charlotte Galliver, and an uncle, Larry Wend. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Rev. Fr. David Parsch will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, where a vigil service will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Family and friends may then gather at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family’s wishes, for a fund to be established later.
