Blumke, Duane L., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Friday, November 9, 2012. Age 80 years. Son of the late Clarence and Helen (Janetsky) Blumke, Duane was born June 9, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #439 and V.F.W. Post 1859. Duane married Elaine M. (Zauel) Wilson, his loving wife of 37 years, on February 7, 1975. She survives him. Duane was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service from 1958 to 1993. He was a life member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church. He loved to walk, an avid golfer and especially spent time with his grandchildren. He was a Michigan State Alumni and Fan. Surviving besides his wife Elaine are his two step-sons, Scott and Vicki Wilson, Saginaw; Spence and Amy Wilson, Wisconsin; step-daughter, Laura and Tim Voss, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Nathon (Marie) Wilson, Gavin Wilson, Erin (David)Casey, Helen Voss; three great-grandchildren, Emma and Olivia Casey, Dylan Glinski; several nieces and nephews especially Kim Kinde and her fiancé Shannon McCoy. Duane was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Richard Blumke. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at noon at St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by V. F. W. Post #1859. Honoring Mr. Blumke’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may call at the church where the family will be present on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
