Blair, Alvina, Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Luther Manor. Age 100 years. Alvina was born on March 12, 1912, in Saginaw, to the late Johann Christian and Marie (Ruppel) Basner. She was married to Floyd Blair on February 9, 1946, and he predeceased her on July 9, 1997. She was a member of Holy Cross Ev. Lutheran Church. Alvina is survived by two nephews and one niece, John (Holly) Furlo, Saginaw; Thomas C. Basner, Saginaw; Barb (Carter) Pohlman, Highland, MI; six great-nieces and great-nephews and eight great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Reynold (Riney) Basner, J.C. Basner, Jr., and Richard Basner. Funeral and committal services will take place on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. The Rev. James F. Krueger will officiate. Private burial will follow later in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., then on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
