Bishop, Lyle T., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 89 years. Lyle was born April 22, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp in WWII in the South Pacific and was a member of American Legion Post # 22. Lyle married Mary Frances Guiette, his loving wife of 63 years on August 14, 1948. She survives him. Lyle was employed at Michigan Bell (Ameritech) for 40 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Lyle loved music. Surviving besides his wife Mary Fran are two sons and one daughter and their spouses, Lyle (Tom) Bishop Jr. and his wife Georgia, Apple Valley, Minnesota; Beth Bishop, Midland; John and Karen Bishop, Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Sue Rompf, Hurst, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother, Jerry and Shirley Bishop, Lake Ann, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Irene Bishop, Birch Run, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, James and Virginia Wilkinson and two brothers, Russell and James. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelley will officiate. Honoring Mr. Bishop’s wishes cremation will follow with burial of cremains in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
