Bauer, Wayne Allen, Zilwaukee, Michigan

Loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather was called home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Luther Manor. Age 87 years. Wayne was born on August 6, 1925, in Zilwaukee, son of the late Ernest and Maggie (Albricht) Bauer. He married Joyce Taylor in 1947, and she predeceased him in 1968. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy, during WWII. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workerís International Association Local Union #7 for many years. Wayne was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, which brought him a lot of enjoyment for many years. He was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Zilwaukee. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ralph Dalton; three grandsons and their spouses, John (Shelly) Dalton; Justin (Anne) Dalton, Joshua (Becca) Dalton; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Johnna Dalton; Jacob and Sydney Dalton; Morgan Hribek; also several nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his sister and brother, along with their spouses, June and Gotty Baker, Clifford and Gloria Bauer. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Luther Manor for the loving care they gave to Wayne. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. The Rev. Marcus Manthey will officiate. A private committal will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from noon-5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Johnís Lutheran Church.
