Balzer, Lillian M., Saginaw, Michigan

Loving mother and grandmother passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her home. Age 94 years. Daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Trahan) Turner, Lillian was born April 5, 1918 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was married to Henry Balzer Sr. on April 25, 1936. He predeceased her November 28, 1991. Lillian was employed at G.M. Steering Plant 4 for 23 ½ years retiring in 1975. Lillian was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and a member of U.A.W. Local # 699. She enjoyed cooking, going to the casino and especially her family. Surviving are four daughters, one son and their spouses, Shirley Pinet, Bridgeport; Janice and Woodrow Swan, Freeland; Donna and John Liss, Saginaw; Henry and Carolyn Balzer Jr., Saginaw; Kathleen and Gary Schultheiss, Saginaw; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Lintern . Lillian was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Modlin; two grandsons, Jeffrey Liss and David Swan; her son in-law, Mennel Pinet; one sister, Alice Mason; four brothers, George, William, Harry and Bobby Turner. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Advantage especially Jennifer. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway, Saginaw. Pastor Kathleen Basner will officiate with entombment in Roselawn Mausoleum. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at Resurrection Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
