Zuckschwerdt, Warren G., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. Francis Home. Age 89 years. The son of the late Andrew and Flossie (Coon) Zuckschwerdt, Warren was born on April 18, 1922 in Chesaning, Michigan. He served in the United States Army 103rd Infantry during WWII. Warren married Bertha E. King on February 17, 1947. She survives him. He was employed by General Motors Malleable Iron as a supervisor for 39 years until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and its Senior Club and Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and American Legion Post #439. Warren enjoyed playing golf and hunting. Surviving besides his wife Bertha are two sons and two daughters, Bonnie Zuckschwerdt, Saginaw; John (Christine) Zuckschwerdt, Saginaw; Michael (JoEllen) Zuckschwerdt, Saginaw; Barbara Zuckschwerdt, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Viola (Bob) Hines, several nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ann Zuckschwerdt; three sisters and two brothers, Laura Acetta, Louise Miller, Ruth Richards, Mervil and Howard Zuckschwerdt. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Carlson will officiate with interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
