Young, Michael John, Las Vegas, NV, Formerly of Bay City/Saginaw, Michigan

Michael John Young, age 47 years, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada following a brief illness. He was born on November 1, 1963 in Bay City to Jack R. and Delores (Olk) Young. He graduates from Saginaw Township Schools in 1982, attended Delta College, and enlisted in the United States Army. In Las Vegas, he was employed in area grocery stores, and had completed bartender’s school. Michael was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Las Vegas. He believed that life is a celebration, and did so by making friends wherever he went, cheering for his favorite athletic teams – especially the Detroit Red Wings, and cherishing and caring for his parents, siblings, and their children. He was an organ donor so that the celebration would continue in the lives of others. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack, on July 7, 2001. Surviving family includes his mother, Delores Young of Las Vegas; Michael’s sisters Mary (Mark Marcks) Young of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Kate (Bob) Miller and Bea (Nick) Seehafer, both of Saginaw, and brother, Jim (Leslie) Young of Decatur, Tennessee; and a niece, nephews and his cousin Dean Richards of Bay City. Services for Michael were held on May 7 at Saint Elizabeth Church in Las Vegas.
