Wolgast, Vincent C., Hemlock, Michigan


Went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the age of 81 years. Vincent was born January 16, 1930 in Saginaw County to the late Henry and Emma (Schmidt) Wolgast. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean War. He married Wilma Seeburger on September 26, 1953; she survives him. He was self-employed in his families two business; as the operator of the family farm and owner of a furnace company. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church where he served as a trustee. He enjoyed his friends and family. Besides his wife Wilma he was loved and will be missed by: his daughter, Julie (John) Hagarty; grandchildren, Joe (Nina) Wolgast, Kate (Bruce) Damon, Andy Wolgast, Beth (Dave Scholtz) Hagarty, Emily (Scott) McFadden, and Christopher Hagarty; great-grandchildren, Evan Wolgast, Josie Wolgast, Caden Wolgast, Logan McFadden, Calan McFadden, and one on the way Addison Joyce McFadden; sister, Elaine (Martin) Preuss; and many nieces, nephews, and very dear friends. He was predeceased by his son Dennis V. Wolgast; and siblings, Norman Wolgast and Gerald Wolgast. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's of Michigan and Heartland Hospice for the exceptional care they gave Vince. Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Road. Rev. Paul A. Hauser will officiate with burial to follow in Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W.L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Road, on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
