Weigandt, Roy O., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at his home. Age 72 years. Roy O. Weigandt was born November 8, 1938, in Saginaw, to the late Dorothy (Rethman) and John Weigandt. Roy retired from Delphi Chassis in 1999 after 42 years of service. He married Barbara Amon and together they raised six children: Tammy (Alfred II) Velma, Forney, Texas; Terri Howey, Saginaw; Trena (Chuck) Werth, Davie, Florida, where Roy spent several months in the last three years enjoying the warm weather; David (Tracy) Amon, Ottowa, Illinois; Eric (Yvette) Daly, Saginaw; Elizabeth Daly, Saginaw. Roy raised a grandson, Benjamin Daly, and recently became acquainted with a step-daughter, Tobi Ehmcke, Saginaw. Roy leaves behind sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Adam and Karen Weigandt, Burt; Robert and Shirley Weigandt, Birch Run; Penny and Arnold Murphy, Orlando, Florida; a sister-in-law, Mary Amon-Niemeyer, Midland; a brother-in-law, John and Michelle Amon, Saginaw; a special friend, Marion Hakowski; also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Roy liked to deer hunt, fish and camp. He enjoyed working with wood. Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Barbara Amon, and by his dearest and life-long friend, Ted Niemeyer. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, where his family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
