Wade, Duane (Duke) G., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital. Age 76 years. Son of the late Laurence and Lula (DeRosia) Wade, Duane was born December 4, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army as a MP. Duke married Mary F. Davey, his loving wife of fifty years, on November 12, 1960. She survives him. Duke was a carpenter and employed at Francis Construction for 30 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4232. Duke enjoyed woodworking, his dog Bo, bus trips to the Casino and especially his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife Mary are two daughters and one son, Larry and Anne Wade, Saginaw; Joanne Wade, Saginaw; Mary Lou Hirschman, Saginaw; five grandchildren, Rob Hirschman, Alicia Hirschman, Amber Hirschman, Cassandra Wade, Ariana Wade; two sisters and two brothers, Bob Wade, Joe and Carol Wade, Ann Soltysiak, Shirley and Walt Ferringa; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Wade and Jean Wade; several nieces and nephews. Duke was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rob Hirschman; two sisters and three brothers, Mary (Dan) Galonska, Jean Lombardi, Don Wade, Jack Wade and Jerry Wade; brothers-in-law, Rev. Fr. Robert Davey and Dick Soltysiak; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Wade. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
