Our beloved father died suddenly due to a motorcycle accident Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at the age of 52 years. David was born November 6, 1958, in Saginaw to the late Paul and Ann (Ednes) Vican. He worked as a reliability engineer for Hemlock Semiconductor. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hemlock. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, boating, attending children’s sporting events, and spending time with his children. He will be missed by his children, Sarah Vican, Hannah Vican, and Jacob Vican; his brothers, Robert (Norma) Vican and Richard and Terrie Vican; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; the mother of his children, Jacquelyn (Badour) Vican; and his girlfriend, Laurie Maxson. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 151 Saint Marys Drive in Hemlock. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at W. L. Case & Company, 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will gather at 7:00 p.m. for a prayer service. Friends may call again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
