Vallejo, Ernesto Silva, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, Godfather, and uncle passed away early Monday, June 20, 2011, at St. Mary’s of Michigan. Age 71 years. He was born September 24, 1939, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, the son of the late Francisca Silva and Luis Vallejo. He had been employed by Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry, working in the core room and as relief man. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was an avid football fan, and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He loved to travel. He was a devoted family man and a good neighbor. He married Paula Garza on March 10, 1963, celebrating 48 years of marriage this past March; she survives him. He also leaves five sons and one daughter, Jesus (Patty), Robert, Lionel (Sofia), Dalia (Marc) Serrato, Rene and Albert; ten grandchildren, Angelo, Marc II, Raquel, Jasmine, Anthony, Stefani, Stefan, Erik, Sierra and Tristan; two brothers and one sister, Luis, Evaristo and Paulita; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lucky and Delfino Reyes, San Juana Vallejo, Eva Wyatt, Clemente and Sofia Garza, Gloria and Rudy Rodriguez, Emilia Garza, Maria and Daniel De Lost Santos; many nieces, nephews, Alicia, Melissa, Belinda, Rosalinda, San Juana, Marylou, Joanna, Elizabeth, Diane, Mari, Daisy, Linda May, Ruby, Linda, April, Lucky, Paula, Rosie, Francisca, San Juana, Delfino Jr., Lucy, Veronica, Jennifer, Jesus, Johnny, Raymond, Roy, Rudy Jr., Rod, Rolando, Andy, Javier, Martin, Daniel Jr., Ricky, Luis, Jose, Ronendo, and Marcellino Jr.; Nelly; Godchildren, Jesse James Martinez, Isaac Garcia, Gilbert Silva, Vanessa Rodriguez, and Michael Ramirez; many beloved compadres and comadres. He was predeceased by three brothers, Antonio, Marcellino, and Jesus. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 S. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M., Cap., will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday where they will meet Thursday evening for a parish vigil service. Visitation will then be at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family’s wishes.
