Susalski, Robert J., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband and father passed away peacefully Monday, July 4, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Age 77 years. Son of the late Joseph and Marie (Nowaczyk) Susalski, Robert was born June 5, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of V.F.W. Post 7439. Robert married Judith M. Beckmann on August 2, 1958. She survives him. Bob was employed by Ameritech for 34 years retiring in 1994. In 1972 they moved to Indian River and then returned to Saginaw in 2008. Bob was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1986. Robert was a pilot and airplane enthusiast. He was involved in the Civil Air Patrol and Experimental Aircraft Association. Surviving besides his wife Judith are two daughters and one son, Christine Susalski, Lubbock, Texas; Jon and Kristin Susalski, Olympia, Washington; Jennifer Susalski, Olympia, Washington; his sister, Irene and Tom Evon, Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Beverley Susalski, Saginaw; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Richard J. Susalski. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, July 8, 2011 at noon at St. Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Honoring Mr. Susalski’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at St. Helen Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Helen Catholic Church.
