Solek, Stanley J., Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Age 85. The son of the late Peter and Mary (Demske) Wszolek, Stan was born April 20, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4232, Polish Falcon’s of America, and past President of the Pulaski Club. Stan enjoyed Polish music and was co-host of WSAM’s Sunday morning Polka show. He loved sports and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Surviving are two daughters, Pam and Penny of Denver, Co.; his loving companion of 37 years, Julia Schanhals; a sister, Agnes Mazur, Birch Run; several nieces and nephews and many special and loving friends. Stan was preceded in death by his brothers Hank and Frank Solek and a sister, Eleanor Borucki. Honoring Stan's request cremation has taken place and no funeral service is scheduled at this time.
