Sizick, Rita Grace, Saginaw, Michigan


It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Grace Sizick announces her passing after a brief illness, on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the age of 76 years. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jodi (Jay) Robison, Jill (Wesley) Rambo, Lynn (Louis) Rocha, and Mark Sizick. Rita will also be fondly remembered by her three grandchildren, Christopher Sizick, Hayley and Vasey Rocha; by her sisters and brothers, Ruth Ann (Edward) Moore, Madalyn O'Connor, John (Sharon) Fisher, Veronica Haldane, James (Sally) Fisher, Mari Irene (David) MacLean, and Phillip Fisher; many nieces, nephews and their families. She will be forever remembered by the rest of her loving family members and many dear friends. Rita was predeceased by her son Michael Sizick, grandson Matthew Kinney, and brother Douglas Fisher. Rita was born June 5, 1935, in Pinnebog, Huron County, Michigan, to the late Lawrence and Helen (Mcllhargie) Knaus. Rita was a graduate of Elkton High School and attended Saginaw Business Institute and Delta College. She married Michael G. Sizick Jr. on August 18, 1956. They later divorced in 1974. Rita was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She was a retired Civil Service employee of the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1998. She was an avid Bridge player, involved in four different Bridge clubs. Rita was a person with a big heart and an over abundance of energy. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, gardening, traveling, and cooking. She especially enjoyed large family meals Funeral Liturgy in memory of Rita will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St., Saginaw, Michigan, with Rev. James Heller officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Andrew Cemetery, 381 St. Andrews Road, Saginaw, Michigan. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, and then from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, where a parish vigil will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Friends and family may then call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Rita to St. Stephen Parish, the American Cancer Society, or Covenant - VNA Hospice Care. Rita's family would like to thank the Covenant Visiting Nurse Association for providing such wonderful care during Rita's illness.
