Seder, Lillian B., Saginaw, Michigan

Was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the Meadow View Manor. Age 98 years young. Lillian was born the eldest of ten children on January 19, 1913, in Birch Run, Mich. to the late Ernest and Gertrude (Smith) Magnus. Lillian was married to Harold Seder on June 3, 1933, in Saginaw, where he predeceased her on July 11, 1989, after 56 years of marriage. From 1932 to 1935, Lillian was a grade school teacher at the Butler School in Birch Run Township. Since 1937, Lillian has been a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and its Dorcas Society, the Golden Agers and L.L.L.; she also had volunteered for the Fish Fries for years. Lillian had also been employed in house wares as a sales clerk with Morley Brothers for 10 years. Throughout Lillian’s life she enjoyed shopping, cooking, baking and especially playing cards. Surviving are her son and his wife, Clayton H. (Willa) Seder, Newberry, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Lasslett, Newberry, Mich.; Sarah (David) Shrader, Rhinelander, Wis.; Stephen Seder, Detroit, Mich.; five great-grandchildren, Dakota and Marissa Lasslett; Kaiya and Tes Shrader; Seth Seder; also her brothers and sister, Frances (Harold) Eichorn, Swartz Creek; Howard Magnus, Clio; Robert (Yvonne) Magnus, Indian River; many nieces and nephews; also her dear friend, Kristen Lake, Saginaw. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, husband and four brothers, Clare, Frank, Kenneth and Ernest Magnus; sisters-in-law, Peggy, Eileen and Helen Magnus. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff at Shattuck Manor, Meadow View Manor and Hospice of Hope for their loving care given to Lillian. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3829 Lamson St. The Rev’s Phillip DeVries and J. Robert Herrod will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials contributions may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
