Schroeppel, Dorothy E. "Dot", Kockville, Michigan

Our beloved Lord and Savior took Dot to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Age 81 years. Dorothy Elizabeth Jantzi was born August 1, 1929, in Elkton, Michigan, to the late Aaron and Barbara (Bauer) Jantzi. She was a Certified Professional Secretary. She retired from General Motors, where she had been employed in the Engineering Research and Development Department. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she had served as church secretary, was a member of the Ladies Society (BLEST), worked with the Braille Center and also volunteered with counting money. She was an avid golfer, gardener, and bowler. She was a member and served on the Board of the Saginaw Women’s Bowling Association and the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame. She was also a member of the GM Retirees Group. She married Frederick Herman “Doc” Schroeppel on April 25, 1953, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Amelith; he predeceased her July 27, 1988. Surviving are her son, Larry Schroeppel, with whom she made her home; one grandson and his wife, Erik and Casey Schroeppel, Indiana; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Evelyn Jantzi, Bay City; several nieces, nephews and their families. Another brother, Clarence Jantzi, predeceased her. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. Rev. Michael R. Korte and Rev. Charles F. Buckhahn will officiate with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, and then on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
