Roeser, Ruth E. (McLean), Saginaw, Michigan

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away suddenly Friday, August 19, 2011 at Covenant Emergency Care Center at the age of 86. Daughter of the late Harry E. and Margaret A. (Laidlaw) McLean, Ruth was born June 3, 1925 in Iosco County, Michigan. She was married to Raymond F. Roeser on July 17, 1948. He predeceased her in 2006. Ruth was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1943, and a recent participant in the planning of this year’s 68th reunion. She was a graduate of Michigan State University and a member of Alpha Xi Delta fraternity. Ruth was an accomplished pianist, organist and vocalist throughout her life, and there wasn’t a song that she couldn’t harmonize to! She was also a long time member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, an organist for Eastern Star, and a member of Germania Town and Country Club. Ruth was a creative, patient, and kind woman who enjoyed golfing, sewing, photography, music and traveling, especially to Apollo Beach, Florida where she wintered, and Big Bear Lake in Lewiston, Michigan during the summer. Ray’s job with the Wickes Corporation gave them the opportunity to live in many different locations; Netherlands, Chicago, New Jersey, San Diego, and London. Finally, settling back in Saginaw. Surviving are four loving children and their spouses, Linda and Timothy Marr, Saginaw; Richard and Vicki Roeser, Hollywood, Florida; Patrick and Kristy Roeser, Grand Rapids; Peggy and Paul Bonk, Chanhassen, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Amy Marr, Andrea (Jeff) Kubick, Jacob Roeser, Emily and Katelyn Roeser, Gina, Audrey, and Scott Bonk; one great- granddaughter, Alexie Marr; several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald McLean; and sisters and brothers in-law, Loretta and Tom Barry, Carl & Mildred Roeser, Arlene and Dan Kunitzer. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Roeser’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
