Rinness, Armin Alfred (Bun), Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at HealthSouce. Age 90 years. The son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Feutz) Rinness was born June 8, 1921 in Traverse City, Michigan. He married Lorraine A. Strieter, March 12, 1949. She passed away December 30, 2006. He served with the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Boise during WWII and was a member and past Commander of the Reese American Legion #139 and a member of V.F.W. Post #1859. He was employed as an electrician by General Motors, Saginaw Malleable Iron Foundry, retiring in September 1987 with thirty-seven years of service. Armin was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan but most of all enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s events. Surviving are his children and their spouses, Theodore Rinness; Peggy and Dennis Histed; Sally and Donald Efu; Thomas (Joni King) Rinness; Todd Rinness and Paula Smeltzer; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. A son, Timothy A. Rinness and a brother, Ralph Rinness, has predeceased him. The funeral service will take place on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss Road, Saginaw. Rev. Michael Korte will officiate with Military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and then at the Church on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service.
