Richter, Charles W., Saginaw, Michigan

Went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18, 2011, at the age of 70 years. Charles was born November 9, 1940, in Kawkawlin, Michigan to the late Otto and Vera (Hartley) Richter. He graduated from Ferris State University in 1962 and went on to obtain his M.B.A. from U of M in Flint. He retired from the pharmacy department of St. Mary’s Hospital and went on to work for various pharmacies. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as Clerk of Session and was on the Presbytery. He was a member of Kiwanis since 1968 and was President of his local club and Lieutenant Governor of Division 19 of Michigan. He was a former President of the Germania Club where he was active on the music committee. He enjoyed traveling and recently took a cruise through the Panama Canal. He is survived by his sisters, Lois (Edward) Goulet and Marlene (Merlin) Goulet; sister-in-law, Opal Richter; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Lyle Richter. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 121 Harrison. Dr. Robert L. Emrich will officiate with burial Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may visit at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, on Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Sunday at 2:00 until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
