Priess, Margaret Anne, Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the Cartwright Care Center. Age 81 years. The daughter of the late Eva (Forstner) and Thomas A. Cowper Sr. was born June 6, 1929 in Port Huron, Michigan. She married Byron G. Priess, February 27, 1954. He passed away Feb 19, 1989. She was very active and taught Sunday School with her churches, currently a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Saginaw. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Margaret was a portrait and mural painter, enjoyed crafts, particularly making sock monkeys, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and John Schroeder, Saginaw, MI; three grandsons, John Jr., Joshua and James; A step-son and his wife, David and Viola Compton, Baltimore, MD; three step grandchildren, Cassandra Butt; Jessica and Chris Hanson; Brad Todd and their children; two brothers, three sisters and their spouses, Thomas and Darlene Cowper Jr.; Betty Mintz; Robert and Margie Cowper; May and George Racz, all of Port Huron, MI; Tiny Gollach, Calhoun, GA; a sister-in-law, Valerie Priess; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A son, Joel B. Priess, a step-daughter, Brenda Todd and two sisters have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8695 Gratiot Road, Saginaw. Rev. Denise Gundersen will officiate with burial at 3:00 p.m. at the Rock Fall Cemetery, Harbor Beach, Michigan. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday and then at the Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
